Musings
- You know our country is a bit too wrapped up in technology when your nephew argues almost violently that a certain restaurant name is correctly spelled "iHOP". This same kid spends more time choosing which headphones/earbuds to wear than he does picking what clothes to put on when going out.

- I got a HUGE hug from the incredibly cute waitress at the diner today. As I was sitting with a buddy who had kidnapped me to go get coffee, one of his other friends joined us and proceeded to talk Nascar. This guy was oblivious to the fact that Clarence and I were both totally disinterested in Billy Bob Racing, the National Sport of Redneck America. He finally focused on me and asked the fatal question: "John, who's yer favorite driver?"

The man looked totally shocked when I stared him down and clearly said "Personally I think Nascar sucks." It didn't help when Clarence told the guy "And you know I can't stand that crap." Clarence and I exchanged a high five as the Racin' Bubba scurried away from the table, mumbling something about a couple of faggots. It was then that Angie hugged me from behind and said "I thought you were a nice guy from the day I met you. Now I know you're alright!" Clarence got a big hug too. Ther moral of the story? It pays to speak your mind.

- Tomorrow I start back with my foot doctor after time off due to my hospitalization. The home health nurses have been good at treating and dressing the abcess in my foot (which is located of the extreme outside edge of the foot and hard for me to get to) but I feel more comfy with the Doc involved. This man is considered to be the best in Charleston, and many medical professioonals have told me he is considered to be one of the best Podiatric Surgeons in the country. All I know is he has been good to me so far and I trust his skills and judgement without question. This abcess is more serious than the first and I fear we may be looking at some drastic measures. It this is the case, this man is the one I want in my corner. No doubt.

Such are the Midweek Musings of Hobbles the Clown.

hugs from behind
are too good.
Nascar is certainly a required taste sport and
yes, sometimes, it is good to speak your mind.
